ShefSid’s Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

Hey foodies! It’s ShefSid’s Spaghetti here, and today I’m sharing my mouthwatering Spaghetti Bolognese recipe with all of you. This classic Italian dish is the ultimate comfort food, and I promise you’ll love every bite. Let’s get cooking ShefSid’s Spaghetti.

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
One carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 can (28 oz/800g) crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup (120ml) red wine (optional)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb (450g) spaghetti
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery.

Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon. Make sure to break it into small crumbles as it cooks.

Pour in the red wine (if using) and let it simmer for a few minutes to reduce slightly.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, and then add the dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavours.

The longer it simmers, the richer the flavour will be.

While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and set aside.

If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to puree it.

Serve the cooked spaghetti on plates, and top generously with the delicious Bolognese sauce.

Finish with a sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh basil leaves for that perfect finishing touch.

Grab your fork and enjoy this hearty, comforting meal!
